Justin Devine, MBA, PMP
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Devine is the founder and CEO of AscentPath AscentPath was born after Mr. Devine realized the huge potential that existed in the cloud for small and mid-sized companies. In his role as CIO of The Aurelius Group, he took great advantage of the transformative change in IT strategy brought about by the emergence of enterprise-ready cloud and Software as a Service solutions. Pursuing a cloud-first strategy, Mr. Devine delivered IT capabilities that outperformed those of partners and competitors for a fraction of the cost, and found himself being asked about this approach with increasing frequency. Recognizing a large unserved market, he founded AscentPath to bring enterprise-level IT strategy to small and medium size business. Today, as a result, AscentPath offers strategic IT consulting and expertise to businesses of all sizes.
Pulling from a wealth of knowledge and experience gained through over a decade of leadership positions in management and technology consulting Mr. Devine has delivered successful projects, programs, and produced results for over 30 federal agencies, US military commands, Fortune 500 firms, and nonprofits. A PMP certified project manager since 2006, Mr. Devine is a true believer in the value of great project management and has relied on a unique hybrid of management and technical skills to connect business problems with winning technical solutions. This has allowed him to repeatedly deliver measureable business value and high Return on Investment (ROI) for his clients and employers. Mr. Devine’s clients value his integrity, directness, customer-focus, and problem-solving.
As a consultant and manager, Mr. Devine’s open-minded and curious nature allow him to match solutions with each client’s unique needs without bias. These qualities have also led to a diverse collection of expertise and interests including: IT project, program, and portfolio management, leadership, IT transformation and governance, IT strategy and operations, cloud and SaaS, managed services, strategic human capital and talent management, CPIC and program evaluation, knowledge management and collaboration, data visualization and dashboarding.
Mr. Devine also has a passion for selecting and leading great teams and serving as a coach and mentor to junior teammates. He believes he was fortunate enough to have great mentors throughout his career at The Aurelius Group, UMT, Robbins Gioia, and L-3, and recognizes the transformative effect these individuals had on his career. With a great deal of gratitude owed to his own mentors, Mr. Devine makes an effort to “pay it forward” whenever the opportunity presents itself and is perhaps, above all other accomplishments, most proud of the kind words received from previous team members.
Mr. Devine received his MBA from University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business and his BA from Binghamton University where he was a Phi Beta Kappa.
Director of Operations
Kevin is a senior IT leader, manager, and consultant. At AscentPath, Kevin is the Director of Operations, leading client engagements, projects, and heading the Managed Services that AscentPath provides. Kevin believes in customer focus and aligning technology to enable business objectives.
Kevin is experienced in strategic and technical IT consulting and project management, and has served private sector and government clients in a variety of key roles. His technical background and deep experience working with many companies of varying sizes allows him to find the best solutions for different clients. His history of success in operations enhances his leadership of technical teams.
Kevin has a strong background in IT systems and infrastructure. He spent years as a systems administrator, focusing on virtualization, infrastructure design, server administration, and cloud and SaaS solutions. Kevin also has a background in IT security, and has delivered security solutions, developed a NIST 800-53 based audit, and developed and built an IT Security Awareness program.
In his spare time, Kevin enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading, and baseball. He spent years as a volunteer baseball coach in his local community and enjoys keeping up with both local and professional baseball.
Tracy Hansen, MBA
V.P. Sales and Marketing
Tracy Hansen guides the sales and marketing strategy at AscentPath. She prides herself in listening to her customers, understanding their needs, and offering them the highest level of service and solutions. Tracy has a proven track record of delivering for thousands of customers across hundreds of miles and multiple industries. She believes that doing right by the customer leads to business success.
In her role with AscentPath, Tracy is returning to her technology roots. Her early marketing efforts at an educational software company contributed to the company’s purchase by Rosetta Stone. She later joined a medical device company, where she worked cross-functionally with marketing and sales. Leveraging this experience, Tracy’s career continued to accelerate. She transitioned into sales, becoming a district manager at the world’s largest dental manufacturer.
Tracy delights in having returned to technology at AscentPath, where she combines her love of strategic planning and business consulting to help businesses realize their full potential. A graduate of The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA, she received her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Maryland – R.H. Smith School of Business. Tracy fills her leisure time with triathlons and salsa dancing. A people connector and problem solver, Tracy looks forward to meeting you and partnering with you to reach your goals.
