US Inspect Sees Opportunity in the Cloud

US Inspect is the nation’s leading employee-based inspection services firm, delivering residential, relocation, and commercial inspections since 1987.

With headquarters in northern Virginia, and supported by a selective network of offices and inspection teams nationwide, our reputation is built on decades of honesty, integrity and excellent service to our customers at one of the most important decisions in their lives – buying a home.

The Challenge

When JB Haller, Chief Executive Officer, took on the task of transforming the company’s IT infrastructure, he knew the firm had some very important decisions of its own to make. Being in acquisition mode, the company planned to grow significantly and needed to be able to support the growth.

Our Solution

Completed under budget and resulting in significant savings to US Inspect, AscentPath provided a new technology foundation and improved operations with Office 365 and SharePoint. They gave the company control of employee-owned devices through a mobile device management program and facilitated communication with a Skype for Business migration and training.

JB Haller | Chief Executive Officer, US Inspect

[AscentPath’s] attention to comprehensive planning, user engagement, and training really paid off. It’s just the beginning of our transformation plan, but we are already seeing measurable results. Thanks to Office 365 and AscentPath, we’re off to a great start.

The Aurelius Group: Scaling Up with the Cloud

The Challenge

The Aurelius Group, a consulting firm that delivers innovative HR analytics and technology solutions, launched in 2011, winning a large contract to deliver a first-of-its-kind workforce assessment and analytics program for the US Department of Veterans Affairs. The Aurelius Group’s President and COO Shirl Nelson said, "We were very excited to win the competitive bid, and being a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), we couldn’t have been more pleased than to deliver a service that supports our nation's veterans."

Our Solution

The AscentPath team recommended Office 365, and was able to get The Aurelius Group up and running with email, Microsoft Office, file sharing, and communications in less than one day. With their new platform to support them, the team was off and running. They began to stand up an innovative workforce development program for VA and won new contracts in consulting and training.

Rob Gauthier | Owner & CEO, The Aurelius Group

Based on my previous experience I was amazed and pleased by how quickly we could be up and running with so many tools at our disposal. The cost was also very reasonable, and the subscription model saved us from any big up-front IT investments. It was great for a young company and allowed us to easily scale as we grew.

Homestretch: A Platform to Help Northern Virginia’s Homeless

The mission of Homestretch is to empower homeless families to secure permanent housing and to attain the skills, knowledge, and hope they need to achieve self-sufficiency. Homestretch accomplishes this mission by providing subsidized housing for homeless families along with a wide range of comprehensive services delivered under one roof. These services are carefully designed to address all the needs of the families in the program and maximize their ability to achieve their goals as swiftly as possible.

The Challenge

Homestretch, a nonprofit organization focused on addressing the root causes of homelessness in northern Virginia, knew that its technology infrastructure needed a refresh. The organization was running an aging on-premise server to provide email and shared files to its staff. The server had previously experienced some challenges, leading to outages in email and other critical services.

Our Solution

Applying a forward-thinking long-term approach to solving Homestretch's technology challenges, AscentPath helped Homestretch determine that the best productivity platform for their needs was Office 365. AscentPath completed the migration to Office 365 very smoothly, despite the migration occurring much earlier than planned due to an unexpected server crash.

Chris Fay | Executive Director of Homestretch

Homestretch LogoThe server crash was a disaster. We thought we had lost everything! Case files, progress reports, donation records, grant reports, and financial records were on that server. On top of that, we lost the ability to send and receive email. It was almost like having the plug pulled on our operations. You don’t know how much you rely on email and the internet until you lose it. Thankfully, AscentPath was able to get us back up and running. And we were absolutely amazed at how quickly they were able to do that.
